Under construction means that something is incomplete or actively being worked on.  When I think about something that is under construction, I immediately think of a house.  I love watching home makeover shows on HGTV.  One thing I have noticed, a lot of those homes have minimal damage on the outside.  Of course, the outside of the home may need minor repairs such as a fresh coat of paint.  Nevertheless, the damage on the outside may go unnoticed to the natural eye.  Upon entering the house, the camera man immediately zooms in on everything that is wrong inside the house.   There can be foundational problems, roof damage, mold or improper wiring.   For those of us watching the show, the inside of house is an eyesore.  If you are like me, you may believe the house is irreparable.
The architect, designer and developer do not see what we see because they are looking at the home through a different lens.  We see the flaws but the architect, designer and developer have already envisioned what the finished product will look like.  They look past the foundational problems, roof damage, mold and improper wiring because they see the potential the home has in order to take the house from irreparable to complete.  They are aware that the house has to undergo a process.  While going through the process, the home takes a beating.  The house gets uglier before it gets prettier but that does not deter the architect, designer and developer.  Why? They know what the end result will be.
God is our architect, Jesus is our designer, and the Holy Spirit is our developer.   Just like that house, we can dress up the exterior with a little Fenty Beauty, hair extensions, hair dye, Gucci and Louie.  To the natural eye, we look like we have it all together.  We don’t ask God to help us on the outside because we can beautify that on our own.  Some of us were born into foundational problems, have damaged minds, mold and improper wiring which causes us and others to focus on the flaws.  God looks past our flaws and sees our needs.  He knows what the finished product will look like. “Being confident of this very thing, that He who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).
Moses, Abraham, Sarah, Noah, Jonah, Hezekiah, Peter and Paul were all under construction.  Their disobedience, doubt, and decisions did not prevent God from using them.  All of them had to go through a process. When God designed each of us, He took everything we will do into account.  While we are under construction, it is likely we will hit some rough patches. We will not understand everything that happens.  Our journey with God may get uglier before it gets prettier; nevertheless, we have to remember that we have the best makeover team.  But here is the promise, whatever God started in our lives, He is going to bring it to completion.  Your process may not like my mine or theirs.  Don’t ever forget……all of us are under construction.
