I’ve often heard this particular scripture mentioned when it comes to a new year or a new season. This scripture is Isaiah 43:19. This scripture states, “Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (King James Version). Many times when believers hear this they get excited. They name and claim, and decree and declare this word over their lives. Yet, when life presents obstacles, this same word that they were once so overjoyed about, they now return back to the humdrum of life. They lose their expectation.
I can be honest and say that I know all about this. I’ve lived this way in my Christian journey for years. Some will attribute it to a lack of faith. Others would attribute it to not knowing what the word says. What I’ve learned is that if we as believers aren’t willing to take risks and implement quickly when opportunities come our way, then nothing in our life will change. We can have all the faith we want. We can memorize and recite as many scriptures as we would like. However, we have to make the most of every opportunity because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:16 NIV).

I desire to share what the Lord spoke to my spirit recently. When it comes to His people, He desires to change the trajectory of our lives. He desires to give us the exceedingly, abundantly, above all they could ask or think, according to the power that works in us.( Ephesians 3:20 KJV) However, we have a role that we must play and that must be obedience. If we are willing and obedient, we shall eat the good of the land. ( Isaiah 1:19 KJV).

With everything that is happening, all the chaos, death and destruction, there is a wind of change blowing. It will only be for those who can recognize it and listen for the instructions, take heed, and obey.  John 3:8 states, “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. We really have to be open and postured to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying for ourselves and not so much concerned with what others are or aren’t doing. It’s really crucial to do so at this time.

The Lord is doing things that will seem unstable or even nonsensical in our eyes. He uses the foolish things to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).  With this wind of change, there must be radical obedience so that there is congruence.  Congruency means to have a mirror image of the other. We must be conformed to the image of Christ and walk in His ways. He is our Example. Let us discern the wind of change that is upon us so that we can be willing and obedient and mirror Christ in our lives. This way our lives can exemplify the Kingdom of God being manifested in the Earth.
